History and Media is a polish web site dedicated to reflections and describing the place of historical thinking in media, especially in the Internet. Our great inspiration is american Center for History and New Media.

Polish social thinking about history become more intense lately. The success of Warsaw Uprising commemoration, growth of historical reconstruction groups and large existence of history in political language – this can be an evidence that in polish society history was brought back from the margin of social consciousness, where it was closed in the beginning of ninetieths.

By this site, we would like to inform about the most interesting issues in interpreting and describing history in polish media; also, it is important for us to collect as much as possible data about historical resources in the polish Internet – what is more, we are going to support the initiatives for preparing such materials.

Likewise, the issues of history of historiography and theory of history would find important place on our web site.
